Why your dashboard or P&L shows $0

You connected a bank or imported your books, but Revenue and Expenses show $0 and the P&L looks empty. Your data is fine. Your transactions just have not been posted to your books yet.

How BooksGPT counts your numbers:

• Cash comes straight from your connected bank balances, so it shows right away.
• Revenue, Expenses, and every report (P&L, Balance Sheet, and the rest) only count transactions you have reviewed.

A transaction needs two things to count:

1. A category.
2. Your confirmation. That is the check mark on the row. Gray means waiting for review, green means reviewed and posted to your books.

A categorized transaction that is still waiting for review does not show up in reports yet. That is on purpose: nothing reaches your P&L until you confirm it.

Fix it in one click:

1. Open All pages in the left sidebar, then under Daily work click Transactions.
2. Click Confirm all in the banner to confirm every auto-categorized transaction at once.

3. Or click a row's gray check to review just that one. The To review filter shows everything still waiting.

Working in bulk? Select rows, use Bulk edit to set the category, then click Verify. Setting a category alone does not post the rows. Verify is the step that does.

Good to know:

• A brand-new workspace with no data at all shows sample numbers with a "Sample data" stamp. Those disappear the moment real data arrives.
• Changed your mind? Click the green check to re-open a transaction. Its numbers leave the reports until you confirm it again.
