Upload a bank statement
Got a PDF, a scan, a photo, or a spreadsheet from your bank? Drop it here. BooksGPT reads the transactions and checks them against the statement's own beginning and ending balances before anything hits your books.
This is not Import a CSV. That page is for a spreadsheet you already mapped to one account. This page reads the statement for you.
Upload it
- Open All pages in the left sidebar, then under Setup click Upload bank statement.
- Drop files on the box, or click it to browse.
- You can send up to 10 files at a time. Each can be 25 MB. PDF, photo, scan, CSV, or Excel all work.
Check the preview, then confirm
BooksGPT shows what it read, including the statement's own balances. Nothing is imported until those numbers check out and you confirm the account.
After you confirm:
- New transactions wait in Review inbox for you to approve.
- Rows already in your books are matched and skipped, so you do not get doubles.
Good to know
- Prefer a live bank connection when your bank supports it. See "Connect your bank account".
- Use Import a CSV when you already have a clean spreadsheet and want to pick the account yourself. See "Import a CSV from any bank or app".
- Bringing a whole set of books from QuickBooks or Wave? Use Import wizard under Setup instead.
