How automatic categorization and review work

After transactions import, BooksGPT categorizes them for you, then lets you confirm.

How it works:

1. BooksGPT applies your rules first, then uses AI for anything left over. Internal transfers are paired first, so they are never miscounted as income or expense.
2. Every transaction is either To review or Reviewed. New transactions start in To review so you can confirm them.
3. AI suggestions show a confidence percentage in the category dropdown.

To confirm transactions:

1. Go to Transactions in the sidebar.
2. Use the All, To review, and Reviewed filters at the top.
3. Click Confirm all in the banner to confirm every auto-categorized transaction at once.
4. To confirm one transaction, click its status icon to mark it Reviewed.

Optional auto-post: if you turn on auto-post and the AI is highly confident (about 85 percent), BooksGPT marks those transactions Reviewed for you automatically. Otherwise they wait under To review.

Note: AI categorization needs a paid BooksGPT seat. Without one, only your own rules run.
